To uphold the user’s privacy, the program will only access information in the files given. Using Copilot safely

Copilot will ingest all of your organisation’s Microsoft 365 data so it “knows” everything in your system. This is helpful when you are asking it to generate content because it can tailor the content based on your company’s private data. Business owners must be aware however that unless your Micorosft365 environment is properly secured before rolling out Copilot you may accidentally expose sensitive information to your team.

Beyond this, any AI may generate inaccurate information; this is called hallucinating. When an AI tool hallucinates it can provide fictional answers that appear to be fact. Users must double-check the content they receive from Copilot before utilising it.
