While the festive season is perfect for spending time with loved ones, the weeks leading up to Christmas can be extremely stressful for most.
Whether you’re holidaying abroad or staying home this Christmas, here are a few tips and tricks which can save you time and frustration:
Place a label on the front of your gift cards to track their balance
Have you ever gone to use a gift card, only to use it and realise you didn’t have as much money on it as you initially thought?
It can often be hard to keep track of how much money is left on your card- especially for gift cards like Westfield which do not print the balance on the receipt.
If you don’t spend all of your gift card in one go, place a file label on the front of the card so that you can track your balance.
Store Christmas lights on a piece of cardboard or a coat hanger
Instead of spending hours trying to untangle your Christmas lights, why not use a coat hanger or old wrapping paper rolls to neatly store them?. It may take a little longer to pack your lights away, but your future self will definitely thank you when it’s time to bring out the lights for next Christmas!
Never lose the end of the tape roll while wrapping presents
One of the most frustrating things about wrapping presents is losing the end of the sticky tape.
Putting a paper clip at the end of the roll of tape will ensure you never lose the end again!
If you’re travelling in a large group, mark everyone’s bag as fragile
If you’re travelling with a large group of people by plane, put a fragile sticker on each of your suitcases. A fragile sticker will not only make sure your bags are handled delicately, but will also ensure your bags will be processed together, coming out on the carousel at the same time.
If you have black luggage or a generic-looking suitcase, it’s also worth tying a ribbon on the handle of each of your bags-that way you’ll be able to distinguish your suitcase from the sea of other black luggage, immediately.
When travelling, take a deck of cards with you
While it may not necessarily be a trick, taking a deck of cards with you on your travels can be a great way to pass time. Whether your flight has been delayed or you’re stuck waiting for the next train, a game of cards is not only social, but doesn’t take much room to pack!
